PAGASA upgrades rainfall warning from green to red after heavy flooding in Metro Manila.
M 4.5 moderate earthquake shakes Central California today.

Light shallow earthquake rattles Denmark and Sweden

M 5.8 very strong sea quake in Fiji (@ 12 km depth) with epicenter located 139 km WNW of Lambasa. Light to weak shaking will have felt by the people of Nadi and Suva.

M 5.5 strong deep sea quake in Southwestern Ryukyu Islands, Japan (@ 135 km depth) with epicenter located 122 km NNW of Hirara. Just a weak shaking of MMI II-III will have felt by the people of Hirara, Ishigaki, Urasoe, Gushikawa, Chatan, Itoman, Tomigusuku, Naha and Taipei (Taiwan).

 Hurricane Ernesto has made landfall along the southern Yucatan coast with winds of 85 mph. 

M 4.8 moderate earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan (@ 60 km depth) with epicenter located just 5 km NE Shizunai. Just a weak shaking will have felt by the people of Tomakomai and Sapporo.

    Mount Tongariro spewed ash and rocks for about 30 minutes.

    -As of 01:00 UTC, TS Haikui was located approximately 135 nm south of Shanghai, China.
    -Haikui made landfall in the province of Zhejiang, about 225 kilometers (140 miles) south of Shanghai.
  • Tropical Storm Gilma
    -As of 01:00 UTC, TS Gilma was located 965 km SSW of the southern tip of Baja California.
  • Tropical Storm Thirteen
    -As of 01:00 UTC, TS Thirteen was located approximately 730 nm north-northwest of Wake Island
  • Heat wave in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates
    -A total of 127 heat stroke cases reported at Sharjah’s Kuwaiti Hospital in July.
    -Heat stroke case is large than last year during June and July which were not more than 24.
  • Wildfire in Norman
    -New Wildfire reported at 168th and Alameda streets.
